Lorain County JVS Welcomes New High School Principal to Lead Students and Community into a Golden Era of Opportunity
Lorain County JVS is proud to welcome Megan Champagne as its new High School Principal — a leader dedicated to student success, academic excellence, and community connection.
At a time when Lorain County is entering what many call its “Golden Era of Opportunity,” LCJVS continues to stand at the intersection of education, workforce development, and economic growth. With a recent 5-Star Rating from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce, LCJVS is recognized statewide for its commitment to high-quality academics, hands-on learning, and career pathways that meet the needs of both students and employers.

A Leader Focused on Learning, Belonging, and Opportunity
Principal Megan Champagne brings a student-first philosophy grounded in collaboration, creativity, and civic responsibility. She believes that every young person can discover their purpose when academics connect to the real world — and when schools, families, and communities work together to support them.
“Our students are the future of Lorain County,” said Dr. Glenn Faircloth, Superintendent of LCJVS. “Under Principal Champagne’s leadership, we’re not only preparing them for great careers — we’re shaping lifelong learners, engaged citizens, and the next generation of leaders.”
“Megan brings the energy and vision our students deserve,” added Rex Engle, President of the LCJVS Board of Education. “Her leadership will help LCJVS strengthen its culture of belonging, innovation, and excellence — while continuing to serve as a cornerstone for regional workforce development.”
“This is an exciting moment for our students, staff, and community,” said Kathy Quintiliano, Vice President of the Board of Education. “LCJVS has always been a place where students feel connected and capable. Megan’s leadership will take that spirit even further.”
Academic Strength and a Culture of Connection
LCJVS currently serves more than 1,400 high school students and 500 adult learners across 13 associate school districts, offering over 30 programs that blend rigorous academics with real-world experience. From robotics to healthcare, culinary arts to manufacturing, LCJVS students learn by doing — and graduate ready for both college and career success.
The district’s success is rooted in its positive school culture, where instructors foster belonging, mentorship, and pride. Students engage in civic and service-learning projects, work-based experiences, and regional initiatives that give back to Lorain County communities.
"I believe in the transformative power of Career-Technical Education, and I am so honored to lead this school,” said Principal Megan Champagne. “LCJVS is a place where students find purpose, confidence, and opportunity. Together with our dedicated instructors and partners, we’ll continue building a school culture that celebrates learning, leadership, and community.”
“We view every partnership as an opportunity to strengthen our community’s workforce and economic vitality. We look forward to collaborating with LCJVS and its new leadership to ensure that Lorain County’s youth are equipped for their future,” said Superintendent Mike Molnar, Amherst Exempted Village Schools.

A Cornerstone for Regional Workforce and Economic Development
As Lorain County’s population continues to grow — now exceeding 317,000 residents — the need for a skilled, innovative workforce has never been greater. LCJVS plays a critical role in meeting that demand, partnering with more than 200 employers, regional chambers, and post-secondary institutions such as Lorain County Community College to align education with evolving industry needs.
“Lorain County is entering a golden era of opportunity,” said Marty Gallagher, Lorain County Commissioner. “With LCJVS as a cornerstone of workforce development, Megan Champagne’s leadership marks an important milestone in preparing students for the high-skill, high-demand careers shaping our economy.”
“Business and education must work hand in hand,” said Lisa Hutson, President and CEO of ONE Lorain County. “LCJVS continues to serve as that connection point — uniting schools, employers, and families to strengthen our regional vibrancy and economic development.”
“Career-technical education is one of Ohio’s greatest economic engines,” shared Dee Smith, Executive Director of Ohio ACTE. “LCJVS’s 5-Star rating is a reflection of that excellence, and Principal Champagne’s leadership will help sustain that success for years to come.”
“Partnerships between secondary and post-secondary education are vital,” said Tracy Green, Vice President of Strategic and Institutional Development at Lorain County Community College. “Our collaboration with LCJVS opens pathways for students to earn college credit, complete apprenticeships, and join the workforce ready to lead.”
Building a Stronger Future — Together
From the classroom to the community, LCJVS is helping students build meaningful futures and strengthen Lorain County’s workforce. Under Principal Champagne’s leadership, the district will continue expanding opportunities, deepening civic engagement, and fostering regional vibrancy — ensuring that every student has a place and purpose in Lorain County’s bright future.
“This is more than a school,” Champagne added. “It’s a community — one that’s proud of its students, its partners, and its progress. I’m honored to be part of it.”
