Compliance & Required Notices

Lorain County JVS is committed to a safe, inclusive, and compliant learning environment. This page brings together all required notices and policies under Ohio and federal law—including Title IX (nondiscrimination and sexual harassment), ADA/Section 504, FERPA/PPRA student rights, McKinney-Vento, bullying and safety reporting, web accessibility, public records, and other disclosures.   • The Lorain County JVS does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs or activities and does not tolerate sex-based discrimination, including sexual harassment, as prohibited by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and its implementing regulations (34 C.F.R. Part 106). The district also does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, or age, and provides equal access to designated youth groups.

  • Students, families, and staff can call or text 844-SAFEROH (844-723-3764), or submit a tip online/app, to report bullying, threats, self-harm, weapons, or any safety concern. Tips go to Ohio School Safety Center analysts and are shared with school officials and law enforcement for follow-up. In emergencies, call 911.

  • McKinney-Vento (Students Experiencing Homelessness)

    Students who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence have the right to:

    • Immediate enrollment (even without typical documents);
    • Remain in their school of origin when in the student’s best interest;
    • Transportation to the school of origin; and
    • Removal of barriers to full participation (including access to meals, activities, and services). National Center for Homeless Education
