Lorain County Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Megan Champagne to Board of Directors

The Lorain County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Champagne, High School Principal at Lorain County Joint Vocational School (LCJVS), to its Board of Directors. Champagne brings more than two decades of experience in education leadership, workforce development, and community partnership to the role.
Connecting Talent with Regional Partners Through Lorain County Chamber of Commerce
As Principal at LCJVS in Oberlin, Champagne oversees academic and Career Technical Education programming for approximately 1,350 students in grades 9–12 drawn from 13 associate school districts across Lorain County. She has spent her career at LCJVS building bridges between classrooms and the businesses, agencies, and communities that depend on a strong local workforce.
“Megan’s perspective is exactly what our Board needs,” said Nico Samaniego, President and CEO of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce. “The pipeline between our schools and our employers is one of the most important conversations happening in Lorain County right now, and Megan is at the center of that work. Her leadership will help the Chamber continue to advocate for the kind of career-connected learning that benefits both students and the businesses that will eventually hire them.”
The Region’s Premier Talent Engine
LCJVS plays an essential role in the economic vitality of Lorain County, preparing students for high-demand careers in fields ranging from advanced manufacturing and healthcare to skilled trades, public safety, and information technology. The school’s partnerships with local employers, post-secondary institutions, and community organizations help ensure that Lorain County’s workforce reflects the needs of the region’s evolving economy.
Champagne has been instrumental in expanding those partnerships. Her recent work includes collaborating on the county-wide YouScience braided funding initiative, expanding LCJVS involvement in middle school CTE programming, developing pre-apprenticeship opportunities for students across the county, and helping launch the OTC+ CNA partnership with North Ridgeville City Schools, Lorain County Community College, and O’Neill Healthcare. She also serves on the Regional CPSN Steering Committee, working alongside the Educational Service Center, the Business Advisory Council, and community partners to advance career-connected learning countywide.
Aligning Opportunities and Accelerating Collaboration
“I’m honored to join the Chamber’s Board of Directors,” said Champagne. “The work the Chamber does to support and connect Lorain County’s business community aligns directly with what we do every day at LCJVS — preparing students to step into meaningful careers right here at home. I’m looking forward to contributing to that mission.”
Champagne holds a Superintendent Licensure and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Baldwin Wallace University, a Post Baccalaureate Licensure from John Carroll University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio University. She is a graduate of Leadership Lorain County’s Best Class of 2025, and is an adjunct instructor at Ashland University.
